Four hundred books donated to local school

The Rotary Club of Leicester was delighted to deliver approximately 400 pre-loved books to Caldecote Community Primary School.

Caldecote Community Primary School is a state primary school based in Braunstone, Leicester.

Rotary Club members were shown around the school and were able to meet some of the teachers. They were also thanked by one of the younger classes.

Some of the books we have donated will be given to pupils. These will include pupils who might otherwise not have their own books at home. Those pupils will select their book of choice to take home.

Some of the other books will be used as reading rewards as pupils achieve certain reading levels or goals.

The books were collected as part of the club\’s Books4Home appeal. Book donations came from club members and the general public.

We\’d like to thank everyone that has donated books to date. Your kind donation will help give local children the gift of reading.

The appeal is still open if you’d like to donate any books.
